The advantage is that analytic solutions are presented for speed versus time as well as for steady state conditions and the accuracies are therfore not limited by time-step increment size.
Part 1 deals with maximum cycling speed based on maximum tire traction capability.
Part 2 deals with the Powerbalance which is resolved to obtain speed versus time, equations (18) thru (22), but also the steady state solution is analysed, equations (23) and (24).
